Idaho Biography Index - Sources

The Idaho Biography Index was begun in the 1970s by staff in the Special Collections Department of the University of Idaho Library. By 1987 over 10,000 entries had been typed on the reverse of out-dated catalog cards.

Over several months in 1997 and 1998 Special Collections, using its newly acquired scanner, digitized the cards and placed the data in a database. An ongoing effort to add newly published entries to the database has increased its size to over 12,000 entries.
